Actress and host Holly Robinson Peete has a few words for
Kim Kardashian
and her 72-day marriage to New Jersey Nets baller Kris Humphries. Holly, who has been married to former NFL player Rodney Peete for 16 years, recently commented on the whole Kim /Kris fiasco, saying that she feels sorry for Kris because he just got caught up in all the hype Kim just used poor Kris to expand her brand for greed and fame.
“It’s not going to ruin her brand. It’s going to be good for her brand. No one is thinking of her as this love-struck puppy. No one ever thought of that. They just wanted to see a wedding and they watched. The conversation that, well, America is upset with her, because she has no respect for the covenant of marriage[, its] silly.
“This is all about money, and fame, and all those things. This is her brand. I think it’s going to be totally fine. It’s the next chapter. It’s now who’s she going to date next.”
Holly also said that she recently talked with some
basketball players about the Kris and Kim marriage and divorce, and there is nothing but a blanket of pity that rests over the league for the young NBA baller:
“That’s all those guys can talk about and the gist of it was they just felt so sorry for him, because they know he just got so caught up in stuff. And I just feel bad that no one’s talking about him, I really do. I feel terrible for that boy. They were saying that when you’re known for marrying someone who has a sex tape out, that was all they can talk about, and how that isn’t sexy right there.”

Why would someone get married simply to get divorced? Money. Fame. Her romances make the front page of every tabloid, and her weddings will make more money than they cost. Since she has no discernible talent, she will use what she has to make and stay in the headlines. She believes that a rotating door of romances and grooms will keep her in the spotlight long after most stars burn out. When you have such lofty ambitions, it helps to have lofty goals. Her close family and friends know about these goals (although many of them don’t approve). What are those goals? 1. Babies with more than one wealthy baby daddy. 2. More marriages than Elizabeth Taylor.
